Biology

Physical Characteristics

Lickitung is a Pokémon with distinct physical characteristics.

Lickitung is a medium-sized Pokémon, measuring around 3 feet 11 inches (1.2 meters) in height. Its body is plump, resembling a rotund, dinosaur-like creature. The skin of Lickitung is smooth, and its primary color is a vibrant shade of pink. The texture is soft to the touch, reflecting its friendly and approachable demeanor.

Lickitung has small, circular eyes that convey a sense of innocence. Positioned on the sides of its head, Lickitung’s ears are flat and triangular.

The most iconic feature of Lickitung is its long, extendable tongue, which can reach twice the length of its body. The tongue is wide and flat, providing a broad surface area. The tongue is often depicted in a contrasting color, such as light green. Lickitung’s mouth is usually portrayed as wide, emphasizing its oral-centric abilities.

While Lickitung appears to lack visible limbs at first glance, it is actually capable of swift movements and can walk on short legs hidden beneath its round body. The tail is short and stubby, complementing its overall body structure.

These physical traits contribute to Lickitung’s whimsical and charming appearance in the Pokémon world.

Behaviour

Lickitung, with its distinctive appearance and unique characteristics, exhibits several behaviors that define its personality in the Pokémon world.

Lickitung primarily communicates through its extensive, sticky tongue. It uses this tongue not only for attacks in battles but also as a way of expressing emotions and intentions. Lickitung explores its surroundings by constantly licking objects and people. This behavior helps it gather information about its environment and other Pokémon.

Despite its somewhat intimidating tongue, Lickitung is generally portrayed as a friendly and approachable Pokémon. It often interacts with trainers and other Pokémon in a playful manner. Lickitung is curious by nature, and its behavior reflects a childlike inquisitiveness. It may lick things simply out of curiosity or playfully engage with its surroundings.

Lickitung has a strong preference for spicy foods. Its taste buds are adapted to enjoy the heat, and it often seeks out spicy berries or meals. When it finds something it enjoys, Lickitung can rapidly consume large quantities of food. Its tongue assists in efficiently engulfing its favorite treats.

In battles, Lickitung relies heavily on its tongue-based attacks, including moves like Lick and Wrap. These moves may not only deal damage to opponents but can also have additional effects, such as paralysis. Despite its somewhat clumsy appearance, Lickitung can display surprising agility and flexibility during battles, utilizing its tongue for both offense and defense.

Lickitung forms strong bonds with its trainers. It enjoys the company of those who treat it well, showcasing loyalty and affection.

Lickitung’s behaviors make it a unique and endearing Pokémon, blending a playful demeanor with a fascinating set of abilities centered around its remarkable tongue.

Evolution

Lickitung evolves into Lickilicky when leveled up while knowing the move Rollout. This evolution was introduced in the fourth generation of Pokémon games, specifically in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Lickilicky is a large, pink Pokémon with a round body, a curled tail, and an incredibly long tongue.
Lickilicky
(First Evolution)

Lickitung is a Normal-type Pokémon known for its peculiar appearance, featuring a long, curling tongue and a chubby body. Lickitung is often depicted using its long tongue to explore its surroundings, and it can use it skillfully in battles. The tongue is not only a sensory organ but also a tool for delivering powerful moves.

Lickilicky evolves from Lickitung when it levels up and knows the move Rollout. This unique evolution requirement sets it apart from many other Pokémon evolution methods. Lickilicky undergoes significant changes in appearance compared to Lickitung. It becomes larger and gains more weight, resulting in a more rounded and chubby body. Its tongue remains a defining feature but might appear shorter in proportion to its larger size. While Lickilicky retains some of the behaviors of Lickitung, its increased size and weight may influence how it uses its tongue and engages in battles.

The move Rollout is crucial for triggering Lickitung’s evolution into Lickilicky. This means that for Lickitung to evolve, it must learn and have the move Rollout in its moveset when it levels up.

Lickilicky, along with its evolution form, was introduced in the fourth generation of Pokémon games, including titles like Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Both Lickitung and Lickilicky are known for their Normal-type moves and can be versatile in battles, with Lickilicky gaining enhanced stats after evolution.
