Karen was one of the children raised by the Masked Man, alongside Will, Green, Silver, Sham, and Carl, to serve as his servants.

 

Gold, Silver & Crystal arc – Karen and Will made their debut at the Ilex Forest, assigned with the duty of guarding the area.

HeartGold & SoulSilver arc – Karen, Will, Bruno and Koga were appointed as members of the Johto Elite Four by the Pokémon Association. They participated in the Pokéathlon to promote the Pokémon League.

 

In this manga Karen’s Pokémon team consist of Eevee which evolves into Umbreon, Murkrow (two of them), Houndoom and Ho-Oh (borrowed).
