Biology

Physical Characteristics

Golem exhibits distinct physical characteristics.

Golem is characterized by a large, turtle-like body with a tough, rocky exterior. Its body is primarily composed of boulders and stones. Golem has four powerful limbs, each ending in three claws or fingers. These limbs contribute to its stability and strength. The rocky shell covering Golem provides excellent protection. This shell is composed of boulders tightly fused together, forming a formidable defense against attacks.

Golem has a relatively small head compared to its body, featuring two eyes and a wide, toothy mouth. Its facial expression often gives off a determined or stoic appearance. While its facial expression is limited, Golem’s eyes and mouth can convey determination or a sense of readiness for battle.

Golem is a heavyweight Pokémon, known for its substantial mass. Its size and weight contribute to its effectiveness in physical battles. Golem’s coloration varies, usually incorporating earthy tones like brown, gray, and black. The color scheme blends well with its rocky composition. Golem may exhibit additional features, such as patterns or textures on its rocky surface, contributing to its overall aesthetic.

These physical characteristics collectively define Golem’s appearance, emphasizing its rugged and resilient nature as a Rock/Ground-type Pokémon.

Alolan form

In Alola, Golem features shorter forearms with two claws and two-clawed feet. Its face accumulates iron sand, resembling a mustache and beard. Two large black rocks, forming a cannon, protrude from its body.

Alolan Golem can’t roll easily due to the cannon. With a grumpy disposition, it roars like thunder when upset, discharging electricity. It can magnetically fire a charged rock, causing shocks on impact.

In the Canyon Biome of Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium, Alolan Golem can be found, showcasing island life simulation.

Behaviour

Golem is known for its rugged and sturdy demeanor, reflecting its rock-hard exterior. Due to its robust physique, Golem tends to exhibit a calm and unflappable demeanor in most situations. However, it can also display moments of aggression, especially when provoked or threatened.

In battle, Golem is fiercely competitive and will not hesitate to use its formidable strength and rocky defenses to overpower opponents. It often relies on its powerful physical attacks and sturdy defenses to outlast opponents in battle. Golem’s behavior in combat reflects its status as a resilient and reliable fighter, capable of enduring even the most intense confrontations.

Outside of battle, Golem is generally docile and easygoing, often content to spend its time resting or exploring rocky terrain. It has been observed to exhibit a strong sense of loyalty to its Trainer, eagerly following commands and displaying unwavering dedication to their goals.

Despite its tough exterior, Golem can also display a surprising level of intelligence and adaptability. It is capable of navigating through rocky landscapes with ease and can strategically use its surroundings to its advantage in battle.

Overall, Golem’s behavior is characterized by its resilient nature, unwavering loyalty, and formidable combat prowess, making it a valuable companion in any Trainer’s team.

Evolution

The evolution of Golem involves a series of changes in its physical characteristics and attributes as it progresses through its evolutionary line. Here is a more detailed breakdown.

(Second Evolution)

Geodude evolves into Graveler starting at level 25. The evolution signifies a growth in size and strength, with Graveler becoming bulkier and more formidable.

Graveler evolves into Golem when traded between Trainers. The act of trading triggers a transformation, and Golem emerges with enhanced power and durability. Golem’s appearance includes the addition of a cannon-like structure on its back, distinctive rocks, and changes in coloration.

In the Alola region, Alolan Geodude evolves into Alolan Graveler, and it later in Alolan Golem which exhibits unique traits in its Alolan form. Forearms become shorter, and it gains a beard-like formation on its face due to iron sand attraction. Alolan Golem’s typing changes to Electric/Rock, differentiating it from the Ground/Rock typing of the Kantonian Golem.

This detailed evolution process illustrates the significant changes Golem undergoes, both in its physical form and its behavior, as it evolves from Geodude in the Pokémon games, particularly in the Alola region where it assumes its Alolan form.

Japanese: ゴローニャ (Gorōnya) – The Japanese name is pronounced Goronya. It is a combination of the Japanese words “goron” (the sound of a heavy object rolling) and “nyā” (an onomatopoeia for a cat’s meow).

French: Grolem – The French name is a variation of the English name Golem.

German: Geowaz – The German name is a portmanteau of “Geologie” (geology) and “Waise” (orphan), reflecting its rock-type characteristics.

Spanish: Golem – The Spanish name is the same as the English name, Golem.

Italian: Golem – The Italian name is also Golem, mirroring the English and Spanish versions.

Korean: 고레놀라 (Golernora) – The Korean name, Golernora, is a transliteration of the Japanese name Goronya.

Chinese (Simplified): 隆隆岩 (Lónglóngyán) – The Simplified Chinese name, Lónglóngyán, can be translated as “rumbling rock.”

Chinese (Traditional): 隆隆岩 (Lónglóngyán) – The Traditional Chinese name is the same as the Simplified Chinese version.
