Paldea region in Pokémon world.

The Paldea region, is a region in the Pokémon world that serves as the backdrop for the base game of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

 

Paldea draws inspiration from the Iberian Peninsula, encompassing Spain, Portugal, and Andorra, showcasing their shared culture, fauna, and architecture.

While primarily influenced by Spain, elements of Portugal’s culture and language are also evident, especially in the western regions of Paldea.

Routes in Paldea

The are no traditional routes in Paldea region. Instead of that, Paldea is partitioned into four provinces, with each containing three areas (except the South Province, which has six). At the heart of the region lies the Great Crater of Paldea, home to Area Zero.

 

The Paldea region has 12 cities and towns, each with its unique characteristics and attractions. Unlike past games, cities and towns in Paldea lack slogans.

Provinces in Paldea region

South province

In the southern part of Paldea lies the hometown of the player and their rival, along with three other settlements and the region’s largest city. Surrounded by a vast river basin branching into smaller rivers, the area features grassy plains, ponds, and beaches, as well as a cave.

 

Southwestward, an agricultural zone hosts a sprawling olive orchard, while an elevated region accessible through a cavern boasts a towering waterfall and a rustic watchtower in a pond. Southeastward, rocky terrain, wetlands, and a secluded beach adorn the landscape, with the southern sea mostly vacant save for a sandbar and tiny islets.

In the Paldea region, the Paldea Pokémon League awaits challengers on their journey to becoming Champion. Unlike past leagues, Gym challenges can be tackled in any order.
